VC Intern Wanted Steamboat Ventures

Steamboat Ventures is a venture capital firm focusing on early to mid-stage, t
echnology-focused companies that are pursuing opportunities in emerging digita
l media and consumer technology markets. The Fund was formed as a venture arm
of Disney in 2000 to invest in early/expansion stage private technology compan
ies in TMT areas. In 2006, with three funds in the US and one in Asia, Steambo
at established its Asia Fund to invest in Asia-based (predominantly China-base
d) application and service companies which broadly operate in digital media an
d consumer technology areas.

The Intern Program is designed for students who have a strong interest in the
venture capital and the new media industry. In the program, you will work on r
eal case studies in a wide variety of TMT industries together with Steamboat i
nvestment professionals. You will have the opportunity to practice and develop
skill sets in a variety of areas, including research, product testing, basic
analysis, etc.

Location: Shanghai

Working hours: From Nov 2011 to Jan 2012, 2-3 working days per week

Job description:
- Assist investment professionals in evaluating and executing investment proje
cts – screening companies, conducting industry analysis, building financial m
odels, conducting due diligence
- Monitor post-investment portfolio
- Pro-actively monitor consumer market & technology trends to provide insight
on possible new areas of investments

Qualifications:
- Graduates in summer 2012/2013 with a Bachelors degree OR a Masters degree,
MBA preferred
- Experience from leading investment bank, consulting, VC firms
- Must have high level of maturity and ability to work in teams and independen
tly
- Keen interest in Internet, gaming and new media industry
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English and native in Mandarin
