澳门填海可增加13%的面积

　　The English-language daily said that the Secretary for Transport and Public Works of the Macau government， Ao Man Long， said in the Legislative Assembly that the four new landfill areas would increase Macau‘s area by 3.6 square kilometers and provide accommodation for 120，000 people.《澳门邮报》说，澳门政府运输工务司司长欧文龙在立法会上称，在4块新的地区填海造地将给澳门增加3.6平方公里的面积，可容纳12万人。

　　At the end of 2004 the population of Macau totaled 465，000 people.至2004年年底，澳门人口达到46.5万人。

　　In 1912 the area covering Macau and the islands of Taipa and Coloane was just 11.6 square kilometers. 1912年，澳门、氹仔岛、路环岛的总面积仅仅为11.6平方公里。

　　After conclusion of the proposed landfills the total area will reach 31.1 square kilometers.填海造地后，澳门总面积将达到31.1平方公里。

　　Ao Man Long also announced that the tenders for carrying out the landfills， in the areas of Taipa and the border with continental China， may be launched in 2006.欧文龙还宣布，氹仔岛与中国大陆边界地区的填海工程招标工作可能于2006年开始。

　　The projected landfills are to be used for commercial and residential areas， sports facilities， casinos， hotels and tourism.新填海地区将用于商业和住宅、体育、*、酒店、以及旅游。
