学校概述
　　1963年建校，共有两个校区，主校区Heslington距离古城仅1英里，面积有200英亩，风景优美，交通便利；琴斯曼诺是市中心的一座中世纪的古老建筑，这里设有考古系、英语系和历史系的一部分。两个校区之间交通便捷—乘公交车约25分钟，骑自行车则更快。该校校史可以追溯到700年前，60年代与华威大学和伦敦大学学院同为新生代大学，成为剑桥和牛津的有力的竞争对手。

专业设置
会计(Accounting)
Accounting is about information. An accountant's task is to provide information to a variety of users including stockholders, bankers and managers to facilitate economic decisions. Different groups use accounting information for different purposes: stockholders may use it to determine whether to buy or to sell stocks, bankers use it to evaluate customers loan, managers use it to make decisions about business operations. Simply put, accountants identify, measure and communicate information used for making economic decisions.

计算机科学(Computer Science)
Computer science is an exciting and dynamic technical discipline. From its inception just 50 years ago, computer science has become the basis for much of the growth in today's global economy. New computing technologies are being introduced in the marketplace at an astonishing rate, making the curriculum for computer science education fresh, dynamic and evolving. Even though certain aspects of computer science education tend to change relatively quickly, core conceptual foundations for computer science are stable, well-defined and solidly rooted in areas of mathematics such as logic and discrete structures.

人类学(Anthropology)
Anthropology is the study of different societies around the world - their origins, development and cultural similarities and differences. The goal of anthropology is to advance knowledge of who and what we are, how we came to be, and where we might be going in the future.

学校声誉
