As the source of life, water is indispensable to human beings. People consume much water in production and daily life. Agriculture and industry account for most of mankind's water usage. Without adequate water supplies, human future is threatened.
Nowadays water shortages touch a large percentage of world population. According to one UN study in 1999, nearly one in five people lack safe and clean water. Water elated diseases in some areas are killing people. Population explosion and water pollution make water crisis increasingly urgent. Water related problems are likely to worsen in the foreseeable future.
The situation is really alarming. Therefore, immediate and effective measures must be taken to protect and exploit water resources. Remember; where there is water, there is life. If we could not make proper use of water resources on earth, the last drop of water would be our teardrop.
