The first phase of Line 10, the Olympic Extension and the Airport Express Line are currently being tested without passengers, and will be fully operational before July 20th.
地铁10号线一期工程、奥运支线和机场快线目前正在进行不载客试运行，并将于7月20日正式开通运营。
上述报道中，the Olympic Extension就是“奥运支线”，extension在这里的意思是an addition to the length of something，即“延长线，扩展区”等；在办公室里很常用的一个表达telephone extension，相信大家都不陌生，就是“电话分机”的意思，这里的extension指的是an additional telephone set that is connected to the same telephone line，即“分机”，那么“分机号码”当然就是extension number了。
