(1) sometime意为“某个时候”，可用于过去或将来：
We will hold a meeting sometime next week. 下个星期的某个时候我们将要开个会。
【注】这样用的 sometime 也可写成 some time (即分开写)。
(2) some time 作为副词词组，意为“任何时候”或“某个时候”(= sometime)；作为名词词组，意为“一段时间”(不能写成 sometime)：
Please phone me some time next week. 下个星期什么时候给我打个电话吧。
We lived in the country for some time. 我们在农村住过一段时间。
(3) sometimes 意为“有时”：
He sometimes writes to me. 他有时给我写信。
Sometimes he went there by bus. 有时他坐公共汽车去那儿。
He is sometimes not responsible for what he does. 他有时对所做的事不负责任。
