　　尊敬的中共中央政治局常委罗干先生，尊敬的刘淇主席，国务委员陈至立，国家体育总局局长、中国奥委会主席、北京奥组委执行主席刘鹏，北京市市长、北京奥组委执行主席王岐山，中国残疾人联合会主席、北京奥组委执行主席邓朴方，尊敬的各位嘉宾，亲爱的朋友们:

　　I am delighted to be with you all here, as we think the significance steps forword to the 2008 Beijing Olympic games.

　　我感到非常高兴，在北京2008年奥运会召开之前，这样一个重要时刻与大家相聚在这里。

　　This is an exciting moment, where the torch and torch relay route will be presented to the world. The Olympic flame carried by the torch and passed around the world from the torch bearer to torch bearer will stimulate the excitement in the peoples across the globe and foucus on the attention at the coming Beijing Games.

　　这是一个令人激动的时刻，北京2008年奥运会火炬和火炬接力路线将向世人公布。奥林匹克圣火通过火炬手手中的火炬在世界范围内手手相传，将会激起全世界人民对即将到来的北京奥运会的热情与关注。

　　By traveling along the historical "Silk Road", a symbol of ancient trade links between China and the rest of the world, crossing the five continents and going to new places, the Beijing 2008 Torch Relay will, as its theme says, be a "journey of harmony", bringing friendship and respect to people of different nationalities, races and creeds.

　　通过穿越具有历史意义的丝绸之路这一象征古代中国与世界联系的贸易之路，行经世界五大洲，并且到访奥林匹克圣火不曾到过的地方，北京奥运会火炬接力就像其主题“和谐之旅”所诠释的，将会把友谊和尊重带给不同民族，不同种族以及不同信仰的人们。

　　The torch and the Olympic Flame are symbols which embody the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship. They inspire us to be the best we can be in all that we do.

　　火炬和奥林匹克圣火是象征，是体现奥林匹克卓越、尊重和友谊价值观的载体，它激励我们在各自工作领域要竭尽所能，务求。

　　The magnificent design of the torch for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will also add a very unique Chinese flavour to the relay. "Clouds of Promise" carry the Beijing Games' message to the world.

　　北京奥运会火炬的出色设计也为火炬接力增添了独特的中国色彩，将北京奥运会吉祥、祥和的信息传递到全世界.

　　When people follow the flame along the Olympic Torch Relay route they are always touched by the magic of Olympism. There is a unique party atmosphere wherever the Olympic flame passes, with crowds greeting the torchbearers with enthusiastic cheers.

　　当人们在火炬接力沿途追随奥林匹克圣火的时候，他们总会被奥林匹克精神的魅力所感动，奥林匹克圣火不管到哪里，总能带来独特的欢乐氛围，总会有大量热情的观众沿途为火炬手加油、助威。

　　The entire experience leaves all those who have enjoyed it with a special memory. I have no doubt the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will leave many extraordinary memories and create new dreams for people around the world.

　　这一享受的时刻将会成为特别的记忆，永存所有经历者的脑海中。我深信，北京奥运会火炬接力将会在全世界人们的记忆中留下许多这样不同寻常的记忆，创造出新的梦想。

　　Allow me to thank our Chinese hosts and in particular local president Liu Qi for all the tremendous efforts, not only as regards this torch and torch relay but also for all the preperations for the Beijing Games. The world is watching and waiting, eager to see what Beijing and China have to offer, and anticipating what this gonna achieve to hosting the games, the torch relay will give us all the foretaste of this. Thanks also go to the presenting partners of the relay, Coca Cola, Samsung and Lenovo who support this event. May I wish everyone involved in the torch relay good luck and mass sucess. Xiexie!
