  The program of priority actions drawn up for the 2006-2008 period, presented to international donors Tuesday in Brussels by a delegation headed up by Prime Minister Maria do Carmo Silveira, aims to reduce poverty in the archipelago.周二,圣普总理玛丽亚?达卡莫?西尔维拉率领的代表团在布鲁塞尔向国际援助国提出了圣普2006-2008年间需要优先解决的问题,以期减少贫困人口。

  The Sao Tome government estimates it needs US$130 million to finance the development program and aims to reduce poverty by half by 2010.圣普政府估计,这些项目需要1.3亿美元,目标是到2010年减少一半的贫困人口。

  According to United Nations figures, over half of Sao Tome‘s population lives below the poverty line and 15% in extreme poverty.根据联合国的数字,一半以上的圣普人口处于贫困线以下,15%属于赤贫。

  This year Sao Tome and Principe‘s economy is projected by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to grow 3.2%, a slowdown of 0.6 percentage points against 2004.据国际货币基金组织预计,今年圣普的经济增长为3.2%,比2004年降低了0.6%.

  The IMF also forecasts that Sao Tome‘s economic growth will increase to 4.5% in 2006 and 5.5% in 2007.货币基金组织还预计,圣普2006年的经济增长为4.5%,2007年为5.5%.

  The economy is expected to get a boost with the launch of oil production in the archipelago in 2010. 2010年圣普开始生产石油后,经济会好转。
