请看新华网的消息： The first full dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games was held in secret at the National Stadium on Thursday night, reported China's Central Television （CCTV）. 据中央电视台报道，北京奥运会开幕式周四（7月10日）晚在国家体育馆（“鸟巢”）秘密进行了第一次大规模带妆彩排。
上述报道中，full dress rehearsal就是“大规模带妆彩排”，dress rehearsal指a full uninterrupted rehearsal in costumes shortly before the first performance，即“带妆彩排”。Rehearsal，“排练、演练”，除了有上面提到的dress rehearsal以外，还有technical rehearsal“技术排练”，studio camera rehearsal“演播室排演”，以及dry rehearsal（DR）“（电视节目等）不用摄像机的排演”等具体类别。
